Quit goofing around on the internet. Go read Justice League of America #13 in stores today! This issue continues the Forever Evil storyline. According to the solicits, “The fate of the Justice League revealed! Will Manhunter and Stargirl be alive long enough to learn the truth?”

If you can’t get to the comic shop right now (what’s wrong with you?!?!), then head over to BuzzFeed to check out the five page preview! This issue is written by Matt Kindt with art from Eddy Barrows, Tom Derenick, Eber Ferreira, Marc Deering, and Allen Martinez.

Below is the cover by Eddy Barrows and Eber Ferreira (click to enlarge). While Firestorm isn’t mentioned in the solicit, nor does he appear in the five page preview, this cover seems to suggest he’s going to be pretty important!!

Favorite Covers: Rainy Days

With all the rain we’ve been having lately in my part of the world, I was reminded of two favorite Firestorm covers. In both cases the rain makes a really nice contrast for this character.

First up is Firestorm #98 (June 1990) with cover art by Tom Mandrake. This was during the Firestorm Elemental era; a personal favorite of mine. The vertical lines break up the art very effectively! Click to enlarge.

Next we’ve got The Fury of Firestorm: The Nuclear Man #9 (February 1983) with cover art by Pat Broderick and Dick Giordano. Sneak Peek at FUTURES END panels

Over on Instagram, inker Mark Irwin has posted a few Dan Jurgens’ Firestorm panels from the upcoming series, The New 52: Futures End. Check them out below!

These panels don’t really spoil anything, but you do get another look at Firestorm’s new costume. I love his flowing hair! Reminds me a bit of the Elemental Firestorm’s mane of flaming hair. Plus, Jason wears glasses five years in the future! What a fantastic homage to Professor Stein! With just one panel, it’s changed how I view Jason.  Now I can’t imagine him without glasses!

Looking forward to The New 52: Futures End! Can’t wait to see what happens to our favorite Nuclear Man!

Looking to the future with JUSTICE LEAGUE 3000 #6

Tucked away among the May 2013 solicitations was the cover to Justice League 3000#6 with art by Howard Porter. It’s a nice cover, but nothing really makes it stand out. However, it’s worth noting for us match-heads due to the appearance of Firestorm 3000! Well, he’s really just “Firestorm”, but I think we’ll call him “Firestorm 3000″ to prevent any confusion with the more contemporary version. Though Firestorm 3000 appears on the cover below, sadly he isn’t mentioned in the solicitation. Love the roiling flames on this cover!! Click the image below to enlarge!
