Firestorm & The Thing in Super-Team Family #1000

The Thing & Firestorm working together, yet barely hanging on in “Penthouse of Panic!”

This short story is part of the giant-sized Super-Team Family #1000! Click the image below to enlarge!

Super-Team Family #1000

No, you didn’t miss an inter-company crossover featuring the Nuclear Man and the Ever-Lovin’ Blue-Eyed Thing. This team-up is part of the 1,000th issue celebration of Super-Team Family! These fictitious team-ups are the work of a gentleman named Ross who runs Super-Team Family: The Lost Issues! That site is dedicated to the greatest team-ups that never happened. He started with Brave and the Bold fake covers starring Batman, transitioned into Marvel Two-in-One fake covers starring the Thing, and is now doing Super-Team Family featuring a wide variety of team-ups. Back in January they reached their mind-boggling 1,000th post! In the post Ross shared all kinds of goodies, include the process he follows to create these posts. On top of all that, Ross is a former letter-hack to the Fury of Firestorm comic! Look for him in letter columns while reading your back issues!

Over the years, Ross has featured Firestorm several times on his blog:

I’m not sure who to feel more sorry for… The Firestorm action figure whose head was chopped off and re-purposed, or the Star Wars Stormtrooper action figure whose head was chopped off and discarded. Either way, OUCH!

My thanks to Travis for sharing this fun custom action figure with us!

Firestorm Statue Coming Soon from DC Collectibles

Back in January DC Collectibles announced a Firestorm statue as part of their DC Comics Icons line! This glossy statue is based upon Firestorm’s appearance in his New 52 series, starting in Fury of Firestorm #0 and continuing through #13-#20. The statue is slated for release in Fall 2015. We’ve seen custom Firestorm statues previously (here and here), but this will be the first legitimate Firestorm statue from DC! We’ll be sure to let you know when they start taking orders for this piece!

This news is over a month old, but somehow I failed to post it here on FIRESTORM FAN. I posted the mess out of it on social media, but dropped the ball on the main site. Sorry folks!

Jason Momoa as Aquaman and Robbie Amell as Firestorm

BOOM! Firestorm. TV. Series. (plus some other folks)

Victor Garber as Professor Martin Stein - Firestorm on The Flash

Firestorm is going to headline an ongoing TV series! Not a hoax! Not a dream! Not an imaginary story! This is happening, Match-heads! Happy early Birthday/Christmas/Life Day all rolled into one!

My mind is still reeling! Firestorm, Atom, Captain Cold, and Black Canary starring together in an ongoing team-up TV series?!?!?! Deadline broke the news and we don’t know much yet, but here is the scoop from their website:

DC Comics superheroes are uniting in a potential new drama series at the CW, a spinoff from hits Arrow and The Flash that will feature several fan-favorite recurring actors/characters from both shows. I have learned that the network has teamed with Arrow creators Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and Marc Guggenheim for a project eyed for next season toplined by Brandon Routh, Victor Garber, Wentworth Miller and Caity Lotz.

The untitled project, now in development, is described as a superhero team-up show. Routh, Miller and Garber will reprise their popular DC Comics characters — Arrow‘s Ray Palmer/The Atom (Routh), Flash villain Leonard Snart/Captain Cold (Miller), and Flash‘s Dr. Martin Stein (Garber). Because her Arrow character Sara Lance was killed off, with her sister Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy) taking over as the Black Canary, it is unclear whether Lotz will play the same or new superhero.

The project is in early stages of development, so there is a possibility for other Arrow/Flash characters to cross over to the new spinoff. Additionally, in a tidbit that should get fans fired up, I have learned the new project will include three major DC Comics characters who have never appeared in a TV series.

No mention of Robbie Amell just yet. Hmmm… Hopefully it’s just casting issues and he will star in the show too. If not, then the Firestorm matrix certainly has room for other folks. Maybe we’ll see a Jason Rusch/Martin Stein Firestorm.

Whatever the final casting… we are getting a TV series starring Firestorm! Hard to believe, but it’s really happening!
