I’m really impressed with the flaming hair, glowing eyes, and overall sculpt! Looks like a really nice figure! Below is the full solicitation (which he shares with Bizarro):

  1. Yeah, the cost of toys has been increasing dramatically as toy manufacturers are reacting to the change in cost of crude oil (poly plastic being a by-product) as well as shrinking markets.

That having been said these DC Direct collector-aimed figures are usually quite nice, and this Deathstorm looks really cool. Since it is unlikely that someone is going to be buying every figure from the line, picking one up, even at $25, is not too bad when you consider 1) discounts from pre-ordering and 2) the cost of a staue or bust, which this is going to be the equivalent of when posed on a shelf.

I could give two shits about Forever Evil, but that figure looks incredible. That price tag, however, does not.

I used to buy a fair amount of action figures, especially when DC Direct was getting started. Today, when mass market big box toys are $15 and premium LCS items $10 more, I’m pretty selective. I bought the New 52 Martian Manhunter, but that was my first purchase of that type in at least a year. Most times, I’ll pick up leftovers at the local chain’s half-off sales, but I’ve even slowed down on that.
