My responses through the Firestorm portion of the show…

Captain Atom: Speaking of missing flaming hair…

There are two schools of thought when it comes to bring back Mr. Canceled. I don’t see it as a kiss of death, but rather as a way to keep a character alive even though his series collapsed. Same with Mr. Terrific in Earth2. No Krull fan here, but I really did like his Captain Atom, so I’m not sorry to see him, Megala and Eiling in the pages of FoF, especially since these characters have (had?) a history.

Roy Raymond TV Detective! I hope we get to meet him later! (My research has him never moving from Detective Comics, where he backed Batman up from 1949 to 1961. Wiki says he moved to Superman comics, but just for some random appearances… I think he appeared in Swamp Thing more often than Action or Superman. Wouldn’t call that a “move”.)

A name for the Megala Firestorm? CHALLENGE ACCEPTED! How about… Megastorm? It’s either that or Firestormala.

Where do I stand on the Justice League divide? Squarely with Rob! on that one.

My comments on the Aquaman portion over on Aquaman Shrine, and now back here for comments on the Reader Response section…

Hawkeye? YES, totally best superhero comic on the stands right now. Uses the medium very cleverly, is a load of fun, great art, smart stories.

TNG/Who: Really? You love it, Shag? I wish I did too. I think it IS terrible. Feels like one TNG staff meeting after another, blablabla. It did have its moments, like the TOS cast vs. Classic Cybermen, and the recent issue, finally things are starting to move and the Doctor starts to sound like himself, but oof, lots of waiting around and awkward likenesses. Ah well.

DC and Marvel own your sneezes. #Truth

I’m going to end every statement I make on the show from now on with “#Truth.”

First off, awesome show as always guys!

    Now, the nitty gritty…

Firstly this episode only had 2 references to Superman, im not pleased about that, but Robb bought up Superman III, so I will let it slide. Had he mentioned Superman IV, there would be no problem!
This Phantom Stranger guy you guys keep talking about doesnt even have a horse, or a wolf, or a purple suit, or a half face mask… And has yet to kidnap a girl in singing fashion! (see if you can figure that out).

Secondly, Shagg im dissapointed your not reading Superman. I hereby require you to go to the comic store as soon as possible, and pick up Superman #0, 13 and 14.

Thirdly… Pay no attention to me :p

Seriously Shagg, check out Superman, its just gotten really good.
As for Captain Atom, without the flaming mowhawk that he was sporting in his title, he now really looks like the Silver Surfer with a chest emblem… Sans board.
It was good to see him though, I agree with Siskoid, its keeping a character alive even though his series has ended.

I really enjoyed Firestorm #14. Jurgens has made it a must read, top of the pile book. And if we are finding a name for the “Megala Firestorm”… MEGALASTORM! Because it sounds better than FIREGALA…

As for Aquaman #14… Nothing says fill in issue more than sub par art! Sorry, Dan Jurgens is a hard act to follow this month.
