Shag, your enthusiasm for Fury of Firestorm is slowly becoming infectious. I am going to pick up a few issues this week when I run over to the comic shop and give the book another try. The proliferation of Firestorms is an intriguing premise and one which you know eventually will lead to an explosive confrontation of many megatons (megadeaths?). And I am already reading and enjoying Aquaman, so no persuasion needed on that front. This new storyline sounds 9 ways of insane, like the best of Johns’ stories usually are.

I love hearing all of the listener feedback you guys get! Clearly there is a lot of love out there for both Aquaman and Firestorm. As I said earlier, the enthusiasm is infectious.

One thing I have to say about the New 52 is that I am not reading the whole line, nor am I a “DC apologist” or anything of that nature, but this reboot line has really gotten me excited about DC Comics in a line-wide sense. I don’t know if it is the energy of the creators involved, or the synergy of marketing from DC, or the simple fact there are a lot of really good comics out there now, but the feeling I get when I think about DC now tends to be what I imagine you guys felt when you were kids reading DC books. I feel like I am really seeing the collaborative efforts of writer, artists, and editorial staff presented each and every month. At a time when more and more of Marvel’s output seems out of touch and artificial, DC’s books feel organic and honest. I get the feeling that, even if I don’t care for a particular book, that the creative folks involved in it are telling the stories they want to tell, not the ones which are being dictated to them. Marvel has some books which feel this way, but in DC’s line I get that feeling from nearly all of the titles. This brings me back to a time when I was a good deal younger and comics were a good deal cheaper, and that makes me happy.

I am not sure if this makes sense or not, but I wanted to thank you guys for helping fuel this pleasant feeling I am experiencing in DC Comics fandom right now.

    Excellent show as usual guys!

Luke – Thanks for the feedback! I totally get what you mean about being a fan of the entire DC line right now. I’m also feeling the energy and excitement coming out of DC right now. While each and every title might not be my thing, I can appreciate DC’s reasons for publishing each title. Exciting times!

Glad you are enjoying Firestorm and the podcast! I think Listener Feedback is probably my favorite part of the show! I love connecting with other comics fans!

    Thanks again,
    Shag
