I’m extraordinarily proud to announce the launch of THE FIRE AND WATER PODCAST – the official podcast for FIRESTORM FAN and THE AQUAMAN SHRINE!
It was just a matter of time until I took my fanaticism for Firestorm into the realm of podcasting. Thankfully I’m not venturing alone in this endeavor. THE FIRE AND WATER PODCAST is a joint project between myself and Rob Kelly, Sea King of THE AQUAMAN SHRINE. Truthfully, Rob is doing all the heavy-lifting with the post-production for the show. So far, I just show up and make pithy comments. It’s a good gig, if you can get it. Thanks, rob!
You can find the first episode of THE FIRE AND WATER PODCAST on iTunes. While you’re there, please drop us a review on the iTunes page. Every comment helps! Alternatively, you may download the podcast by right-clicking here, choosing “Save Target/Link As”, and selecting a location on your computer to save the file (37 MB). In this debut episode, we chat about our passion for Firestorm and Aquaman, as well as our thoughts on DC’s The New 52!
We hope you enjoy the podcast! Send your feedback to: firewaterpodcast@comcast.net
Special thanks to Daniel Adams and his band The Bad Mamma Jammas for our super-cool outro theme!

Thanks for the reminder about saving the file. I always forget that, and have this anxiety over losing the signal mid-program of irritation at jacking with the online controls. Do tell Rob to turn up the volume, as well. I had my PC speakers at full blast and still struggled to hear while seated, much less listening to the podcast while cleaning house.
A few brief points…
1) I hate most of Judd Winnick’s output, but he strikes me as a good choice to write Catwoman. So long as he doesn’t do anything wacky, his darker themes and sarcastic humor are well suited there.
2) I thought Hal Jordan had the best costume, was the sharpest Super Powers figure, and was just really interested in him as a kid… until I read the stories. I have very little tolerance for the character today, and came to appreciate Kyle Rayner as the Firestorm of the Morrison JLA. Powerful mythology and a slew of characters I like very much, but so long as they are subservient to Hal Jordan as THE Green Lantern, screw that whole franchise.
3) Barry is the best Flash, though. Not only was Wally a miserable character who brought nothing to the table, but he seemed like a surface level Silver Age Superman retread as well. I hate him.
4) Nice to hear the Blackhawk love.
5) So you got a podcast and both your characters get solo series launched with A-list talent. My team book came out first! Waaaaahhhh! It was okay.
6) Thanks for the audible Idol-Head love! The guys that created the I-HoD concept are all dead, but the name is presumably derived from the Latin “diabolus” meaning “devil.” It is usually used in conjunction with “diabolus ex machina” (a dark twist ending) or “diabolus in musica” (meaning the tritonus, “the main interval of dissonance in Western harmony.”) Dropping the “s,” that yields “DEE-ah-BOO-Lou.” Of course, being from Texas, I say “DIE-ah-ball-ew.” Whatevs.
Congrats on the new podcast Shag. I knew it was only a matter of time! I’m guessing the Dr. Fate and the Blue Devil podcasts won’t be far behind!
