Black Lantern Firestorm… sneak peek

Last week DC released the following teaser of the Black Lantern Ronnie Raymond/Firestorm.  It looks pretty freakin’ amazing!  Even though it lists Ivan Reis’ name next to the picture, I’m pretty sure this drawing was done by Ethan Van Sciver.

Since the drawing above is a negative, I reversed the black/white to show another version of the picture.

I can’t wait to see what they do with Ronnie!

I’ll for you to tell me if I should wait for the TPB.

I can’t help but notice the V-shape of the costume around the face.
    Looks a bit like Jason’s, not Ronnie’s.
    Hmmmmmm…..

First, my thanks to everyone for the comments. And a very special HOWDY to Buddy Baker! Thanks for stopping by! Buddy is one of the folks who inspired me to start this blog.

In regard to Ronnie’s headgear, I agree it looks like Jason’s. However, if you check out the other Black Lantern teasers, that “V” shaped headband seems to be part of their uniform. Look especially at Martian Manhunter and Superman (Earth-2).

      Thanks again!

I am definately getting this. This looks incredible.

I see that now, Shag. I guess it goes along with the upside-down triangle of the Black Hand’s uniform.
BTW, awesome sight. I look forward to each update.
    Keep up the great work.

It never occurred to silly me that I ought to reverse the negative for a better view. On Martian Manhunter, I found I prefer Doug Mahnke’s take. I’m also disappointed Ronnie looks so much like Ghost Rider. NOt bad, but not wowing me, either.

Seeing as Ronnie was my childhood hero, I have to admit I’m a little disturbed by this but I guess that’s the intention.

I guess it’s safe to assume that Black Night will eventually have some kind of resolution so maybe it will have a happy ending for Ronnie Firestorm fans.
