  1. Forever Evil: Your Mom never stops being funny.

And I thought Flash had two comics in the Golden Age. There was Flash Comics, which ran from 1939 to 1948 , and All- Flash, which ran from 1941-1947. Or were you talking specifically the modern period?

I assumed Shag was talking about Barry Allen Flash. Although if you wanted to get technical, both he and Wonder Woman did have two features simultaneously, if briefly: they both had their own books while also appearing solo in ADVENTURE COMICS in the late 70s.

  3. Martin Gray says:

Never mind Adventure Comics, Wonder Woman headlined her own book and the original Sensation Comics or a good decade. You kids!

And LEGION was a great comic, was it not your cup of tea, Rob? I loved the smart spin on LSH characters and the superheroic soap.

Shag’s theory on there eventually being two full-time Firestorm combos is interesting, but Future’s End is five years away, allegedly. In comics time, that’s never. When we get the original matrix back, it’ll be in the here and now, probably come June.

Anyway, enjoying the show, off to listen to more.

Like Bailey mentions above, we’re talking the Silver/Bronze/Chromium Age versions of the characters. In the 40s, WW, Flash, and GL all had two books each. So shut up old man.

Mr Bailey posits that, you don’t confirm it, ya crabby old sod!

    Happy New Year!

It has been a big year for Firestorm and Aquaman so congrats at all the good news.

Like Rob aiming for an issue 100 of Aquaman, I too hope to one day hold a Supergirl #100 in my hands. Closest was 80, the last of Peter David’s run.

I wonder if Shag saying ‘Madison Pryor’ was some Freudian slip about Marvel’s Madeline Pryor, the Goblin Queen.

Thanks again for putting together the podcast!

  7. Joe X says:

If you count Comic Cavalcade, which starred all three of them, they had three books each.

  8. The holidays got me behind on my podcast listening…but that just means I have a lot of great stuff to get me through my first days back to work!

Nice recap of a banner year for both the King of the Seas and the Nuclear Man. This is as good a time as any to thank you two for producing such a fun and entertaining show. I’m proud to be a small part of it on occasion, but even if I wasn’t, I wouldn’t miss a minute of it!!!

Although I do think you’ll have a hard time topping that goosebump-inducing intro by Gerry Conway on episode #100!!!

Love the “It’s A Wonderful Life” ending. Believe it or not, I sat down and watched that movie all the way through in one sitting for the very first time this year! The whole family loved it. It’s a movie that definitely lives up to every iota of hype thrown at over the years. A classic.

I’ve been meaning to do a Year in Review episode of The Idol-Head of Diabolu podcast edition that covers all of his major comic book and media appearances in 2014…

There. If you fellows could please read this letter on air, it will fill the audio component of the 2014 Martian Manhunter retrospective podcast. I’ll also take consolation that Illegal Machine finally got a proper name check on somebody else’s podcast. As the Ron Howard/Harry Anderson/Josh Radnor to his Henry Winkler/John Laroquette/Neil Patrick Harris, it’s only fair.
