Folks, I gotta say I’m blown away by today’s entry! Below is a 2009 commission by Pat Broderick featuring an updated version of the classic cover to The Fury of Firestorm: The Nuclear Man #4! The Justice League of America versus Firestorm & Killer Frost! Such a gorgeous piece! Broderick still draws an amazing-looking Firestorm!
This commission is posted to Pat Broderick’s Comic Art Fans pages. Also, just for reference, below you’ll find the original cover to The Fury of Firestorm: The Nuclear Man #4 (Sept. 1982).
My thanks to Eric Sellers for the heads-up on this revisited cover!
Support Firestorm (and Pat Broderick)! Fan the flame!
Very neat. I think they made the right choice on the cover but it’s interesting to see a different angle of it, even if it’s a slightly confounding one.
I love the way Pat drew Firestorm characters – not so much the JLA.
Aside from obscuring Firestorm and dropping Wonder Woman entirely, this is bad ass. Why the hell isn’t this magnificent artist working?
I love Pat’s work. His issues of Firestorm are (other than some of my Golden Age books) my most prized comics. I remember when he left the book, it was such a let down. I also really liked the “wavy” Firestorm logo. I wish they would have used that for the New 52 Firestorm. Thanks for sharing.
