Howdy Match-Heads! Sorry for my absence the past few days. I’ve been away at DragonCon in Atlanta! I’m still absolutely exhausted from the event and trying to get back into the swing of things.
Normal posting should resume next week. To keep you satisfied until then, I’ve uploaded nearly 700 pictures from my DragonCon 2011 experience! While there were no Firestorm cosplayers this year, I attended a couple massive photo shoots organized by the folks at the Superhero Costuming Forum. Here is just a tease of some of those photos. To see all my photos from DragonCon 2011, check them out at Flickr or The Unique Geek.

Below is the Superman sub-group photoshoot. Yes, that’s really George Perez (former Firestorm artist) forcing Zod to kneel before him. Click the image to enlarge.

I hope you enjoy the pictures! Again, to see all my photos from DragonCon 2011, check them out at Flickr or The Unique Geek. Chat with you soon!
Support Firestorm! Fan the flame!
I’ve been absentee myself, at least on the reading end. I finished school, but I still have to test for state licensure, so I’m behind on reading and commenting here and abroad. I’m really looking forward to your villain spotlight week. As a dude who churns out a daily, I forget that just because I bake it doesn’t mean my readers have time to nosh. Point being, don’t sweat a brief absence when you’re still bringing the goods.
Some comments on the pictures:
Yay Oracle! Front and (nearish) center!
Can’t recall if I’ve seen the Black Canary wedding variant before. Nice.
I don’t remember seeing a Sgt. Rock or Amanda Waller before, and I dig them both! Also like movie Zod and Speedy.
The blue contacts on Superman really pop.
Nice to see the Atom up front. Shame Superboy popped him one for showboating. KNow your role, Palmer!
I like the tight old school haircut on the Aquaman at far right. It just looks neat.
That is one boss Metamorpho! Love the anvil, but it must have been hell on the convention floor!
I’ve never seen a big Marvel group cosplay like that before. It reminds me of how little I care about Marvel characters these days, but good work by all.
It’s humorous, but some of these people have obviously spent a lot of time on this and they did a great job. That Nightcrawler is fantastic. I would have actually preferred that than what showed up in the X-Men movies.
Also, shame on you for cutting off Emma Frost on the left – if you had a closeup image of that costume it’s possible your web traffic could’ve gone through the roof in one day! 😉
