Check out this gorgeous sketch done recently by the original Fury of Firestorm penciller, Pat Broderick!
Wow! Pat Broderick still has the knack! Beautiful piece! It sold for nearly $40 on eBay recently. That’s a fantastic deal for an 8 1/2″ x 11″ head sketch by such a great artist!
My thanks to Terry Foster for the heads-up about this sketch! Thanks, Terry!
Support Firestorm! Fan the flame!
I miss Broderick. He’s awesome!
That is a great sketch! I wish I had known about the bidding. I got to meet Pat at a con in Tampa several years ago when he kindly signed a stack of his FOF books for me. What a nice guy.
I’ll probably take heat for this but hey..
I think FIRESTORM was at his best in the 70s/early 80s when he was a Marvel character who just happened to be on the DC side. Artists and writers ever since have been trying to DC-ize him, but he was best at the beginning – I wish DC would take their whole continuity back to PRE-CRISIS, with Firestorm as the anchor character…
..and I would NEVER take him out of that original costume again.
