Happy New Year’s Eve, match-heads! This past year was a great one here at FIRESTORM FAN, and next year is going to be even better! To close out the year we’re featuring a rarely seen Killer Frost pin-up by John Hanley from the 1996 Rogue’s Gallery painted comic. This issue featured many of the prominent villains from the 1995 crossover Underworld Unleashed.
Since we’re talking crossovers here, let’s have one of our own! Our good buddy Frank Lee Delano is spearheading a New Year’s Day crossover featuring pin-ups from the Rogue’s Gallery comic! Be sure to check out these blogs on New Years Day for more great pin-ups!
- DC Bloodlines – Dementor by Ray Lago
- Diana Prince as The New Wonder Woman – Cheetah by Cliff Nielsen
- The Idol-Head of Diabolu (Martian Manhunter blog) – Mongul by John Hanley
- Power of the Atom – Chronos by John Van Fleet
My thanks to Frank for the suggestion and the scan! For more information on the Rogue’s Gallery comic, please click here. For more information on Underworld Unleashed, please click here.

I’m pretty sure I said Plastique was my favorite Firestorm villain for reasons that have little to do with Firestorm and everything to do with Captain Atom. I must clarify that Killer Frost is just plain my favorite Firestorm villain, wherever she turns up. My favorite appearances were in Suicide Squad, but you can pretty much always rely on her to liven up a story. I also really like this piece of art, and like the Mongul pic, it made me wish Hanley could have knocked out nine pieces to get included in the card set. Instead, the dude does sports lithographs now.
