I just got to watch this week's episode. Man, that was worthy of a SEASON finale, not just mid-season! This show is firing (no pun intended) on all cylinders. Robbie saving the day was the icing on the cake. The whole family loved it!

I loved seeing Firestorm. Right after he showed up, it went to commercial. Instead of fast forwarding through the commercial, I had to immediately rewind it and watch that scene again.

It was AWESOMESAUCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can't wait for him to show up again... and hopefully his own spin off show....

The CW shows make alterations to the characters--some substantive and some superficial--and those changes can be deal-breakers for a lot of fans of the characters. Initially, I hated the version of Oliver Queen/Green Arrow that debuted in ARROW because I didn't think the changes were necessary or additive. But over time I accepted that CW's Green Arrow is not DC Comics' Green Arrow. Beyond that, the changes the shows made for the characters make sense within the context of the television world.

Firestorm is going to be different than what Conway and Milgrom envisioned. That might include different powers--more flame-based and less transmutation, perhaps? That might include a different look; we'll see if Cisco builds a suit for him that refines the flames around his face. That might include the plurality of his identity, too, although we know CW has cast both Professor Martin Stein and Jason Rusch. I can't imagine why they'd introduce those characters if they weren't going to be part of Firestorm's story going forward. In all likelihood, some of these changes will annoy fans who didn't feel there was anything wrong or lacking with the character. But if fans can take a breath and roll with the changes, I think they'll discover that THIS Firestorm works in the context of the CW Universe and is a lot of fun.

I went through this process to various degrees with Green Arrow, Arsenal, and Black Canary. I'm now looking forward to seeing how these shows differentiate Firestorm, the Atom, Wildcat, and Katana.

The first two comic books I ever read were The Flash #347 and Fury of Firestorm #38 so seeing the two characters together on screen is awesome. The best part of the episode though had to be seeing Ronnie flying. That was so cool.

Like you, I've been following Firestorm since I was a kid - back when he had the short stories in the back of The Flash comics (so I find he inclusion on the current show sort of amusing and well-fit). I don't really read comics these days, but I still have a soft spot for the character, and let's just say last night's episode got me really excited. You're right, this isn't exactly the same incarnation ...yet. Who knows how the character will evolve on the show!
