1980s Cartoon Jam Sketch - Snake Eyes by Robert Atkins, Firestorm by Peter Nguyen, and Lion-O by Freddie E Williams II

This jam sketch was assembled by the folks at [G33K] and eleventeenmedia. I’m not 100% positive that Peter Nguyen and Robert Atkins were the artists above, but I’m fairly confident.

Up next… the whole jam sketch!  The old gang is back together like they were in the 1980s on our television screens! From left to right, you’ve got representation for: He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, Silverhawks, Bionic Six, Centurions, Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers, Visionaries: Knights of the Magical Light, G.I. Joe, Super Friends, and Thundercats! Art by folks like Ian Churchill, Tom Raney, and more! Can you believe this 1980s awesomeness?!?! Makes me wish I was wearing parachute pants and a black t-shirt with neon pink highlights!! Click that sweet, sweet image to enlarge!

  1. While I am a little surprised not to see any Transformers in that sketch, it’s super cool! Awesome to see Visionaries get some love! And Snake looks bad-ass as always. Thanks for posting this!

  2. Great sketch(es)!

I, too, felt a little shocked that the robots in disguise weren’t represented in this jam sketch. But after a moment, that concern took a backseat to yet another missed opportunity:

Look how many still memorable IPs from the 1980s are still there for publishers to relaunch. I think only half of the featured characters on this list are appearing in comics these days. Why hasn’t IDW or Boom! or even DC jumped on VISIONARIES or CENTURIONS or SILVERHAWKS?

  3. Kyle Benning says:

That is awesome! Silver Hawks doesn’t get enough love, I dug that series and the accompanying Marvel Star Comic series.

I agree with Luke, no love for Transformers? Wheeljack, Sideswipe, or Jazz would’ve looked great added in there!

  4. I can only assume we don’t have a Visionaries comic (or Jem, or Inhumanoids) because Hasbro is not currently interested in marketing the property. Honestly, all three of them would work as comics — Visionaries would be a fantasy series, Jem could be a globe-hopping romance/action-adventure series, and Inhumanoids would be like an Atlas-era monster comic.

Oh please tell me there is/will be a finished version of this!! 😀 this is E!P!I!C!!!!

Do you know if there is or will be a finished version of this?? This is absolutely awesome!!!!
