Firestorm and Iron Man

They say opposites attract. Check out this example…

  • One guy has yellow torso, boots, gloves, and briefs.  The other guy has red in the exact same areas.
  • One has red leggings and sleeves.  The other has yellow in the exact same areas.
  • One has a prominent red circle on his chest.  The other has a prominent yellow circle on his chest.

Coincidence? Maybe so… maybe no. Either way, the team-up between Firestorm and Iron Man was destined!

Super-Team Family Presents Firestorm and Iron Man

No, you didn’t miss an actual inter-company crossover starring the Nuclear Man and the Armored Avenger. This fictitious meeting is the work of a gentleman named Ross who runs Super-Team Family: The Lost Issues! That site is dedicated to the greatest team-ups that never happened. He started with Brave and the Bold fake covers starring Batman, transitioned into Marvel Two-in-One fake covers starring the Thing, and is now doing Super-Team Family featuring a wide variety of team-ups. Below are several previous Firestorm appearances:

Be sure to check out Ross’ work on Super-Team Family: The Lost Issues! There are some real gems in there, and they were all done with Microsoft Paint! Impressive!

  1. Firestorm and Spider-Man seems like an oddly perfect mix-up, especially if Conway’d written it

  2. Ross Pearsall says:

Just to be accurate, I have since switched to Photoshop

  3. Martin Stein Returns says:

I think it was in Fury of Firestorm #60 when Ronnie actually transmuted his costume to be more like Iron Man, and he called himself “Iron Firestorm” as a joke.

  4. Luke says:

I’d buy it! Of course, it has Iron Man in it, so I am more prone.

I still think that Shellhead would outsmart Flamehead in a fight, but it would be interesting to see. Like the time Iron Man fought Chemistro in Acts of Vengeance!

  5. Dan says:

No one short of a god-like hero–like the Spectre–can really defeat Firestorm without surprise.

In an instant, Firestorm could transmute Iron Man’s costume into a solid case of lead. Done.

  6. Luke says:

He could, but he won’t. The old school Firestorm rarely seemed to use his powers in smart ways like that. It would also require Firestorm to actually hit Shellhead with one of his elemental blasty things.

Iron Man avoids any attempt by Firestorm to actually land a blow, hits him with a high spectrum burst of x-rays from the unibeam to confuse him, repulsors him through a wall, then knocks him out with right cross. Cue seperation of Ronnie and the Professor, and a confused Iron Man wondering if his foe teleported away or faded from this plane of existance… sounds like a wonderful issue to me! :)
