Not sure on the cancel cycle myself. I thought it was staggered as you mentioned, but now a couple of books are getting axed at issues 19. So it may just be DC saying wrap up the story, then you're done...whether it be on an odd or even issue number.

I read a comment that DC cancellation cycle is every 4 issues. The last cycle was 16 and the next 20. The commenter indicated that Firestorm would get sacked at issue 20. I certainly hope not! However are any of you knowledgable about this? This guy might just be making observations, not sure.

This two parter is one of my faves from the orginal run. I'm hoping I remember correctly in this was Firestorms run in against that dynamic duo of Bug N Byte. And of course we got the Blue Devil preview in this issue as well. So this was issue 23 or 24? Anyway...heres to hoping a revamped Bug N Byte make into the new series!

This is one thing I think is currently missing from Firestorm--- a sense of place. This run of Firestorm from the 80s really captured New York City. I grew up in Michigan when I was reading this, and then later moved to New York City as an adult for a time. I was amazed at how much I felt like I knew the city just because I read Firestorm all those years ago!
