Thanks for all the comments!

@Jon - I think there was discussion that not all the creators were on-board with Fury talking, but once it appeared in the comics it was staying. No dialogue edits that I've noticed.

@Scott - A while back DC Comics announced their collections through April 2013 with no second FIRESTORM trade, so I was nervous. Hopefully the "Continued in..." line is an indicator that will eventually happen.

@Michael - I've been blamed for worse things! Hope you enjoy them! I'm sure they are in your "To Be Read by 2016" pile. :)

@CraigM - Welcome! Thanks for stopping by! If you want some good old-school Firestorm comics try:
Fury of Firestorm (1982 volume) #14-18, and Annual #1
Fury of Firestorm (1982 volume) #62-64, and Annual #5
Firestorm (2004 volume) #8-13

First time here. I ordered both this trade and the earlier Firestorm trade (the one by Gerry Conway) off of Amazon yesterday as I've added the current Firestorm series to my pull list with issue #13 (Dan Jurgens first issue on the book) and wanted to check out the earlier stories. I've always liked the look of Firestorm (aside from that Elemental phase he went through for a while) but I've only read a handful of issues with the character himself (#1, #38, #63 and #80 of the original The Fury of Firestorm series, plus about 10 issues of the Jason Rusch series, from about #1-5 and then #23-28). Most of these I bought in back issue bins and such as Firestorm comics were hard to get as a kid (only conveneince stores and drug stores sold comics back then, and usually only stuff like Spider-Man and Batman). Are there any "quintessential" Firestorm stories I could read? Most of my knowledge of the character comes from old cartoons and those few comics I mentioned.

A lot of trades have very varied release dates. I am surprised Red Hood is out in trade til November. A 2nd Firestorm will probably be in January.

Also, DC seems to be going back and re-working plots, stories and dialog to make everything mesh better in the big picture.

Saw this in the shop today, but forgot to check one thing- did they re-do Fury's dialog? I have this idea that Ethan or someone wanted them to, but I may totally be imagining that ;)
