Thanks for all the comments! A couple things to notice specifically about Ronnie’s new costume..
1) His left hand is featured heavily. That’s the hand he recently lost. Hmmm…
2) Puffy sleeves? Check. I’m good.

I’m not sure how I feel about the overall look. Think I’ll wait to see more of it before commenting other than to say that I’m happy to see the puffy sleeves back!
It’s a slightly odd cover though – I can’t figure out if they’re fighting or not but I don’t think they are. It almost looks like Pozhar is still showing Ronnie the ropes – the rough way!

That’s a point for sure..
I think I too was hoping they might get back to basics with the New 52 but at least the book is interesting, with some obvious love of the character..

Don’t like it. Don’t like it. Don’t like it! As a Firestorm purist I don’t like this one bit. When Didio did the ol’ bait and switch on Stormy fans years ago he said it was primarily because Firestorm as a character had become too confusing. I don’t think its gotten any simpler since then…if anything the whole Firestorm concept is even more confusing today! I was really hoping Ethan was going to funnel the whole thing into something that more resembles the classic take on the character… but I guess thats not the case. big sigh!
