Sometimes, I'll be reading a great Suicide Squad issue and think "Man, how could I have been so hard on John Ostrander's writing on Martian Manhunter? Maybe I was blinded by my own expectations?" Then, I'll read some bit of dialogue like Shadowstorm's, or just remember a character named frickin' Shadowstorm came out of Johnny O's word processor, and my resolve regarding his immense failings at times remains sound.

Yep, that’s Firehawk, all right. In her second costume. While it’s appropriate enough that Barry would use an older costumed Firehawk, I’d call it a bit of a continuity gaffe, as Barry was kept out of action for pretty much the entirety of the original Crisis until his death, and couldn’t have witnessed the creation of this costume. And if Barry’s seen Firehawk since his rebirth, it would almost certainly have been with her current costume….

Shag, not sure if you saw this, but in Blackest Night: The Flash #3 (SPOILERS!) Blue Lantern Barry Allen creates a blue light construct of Firehawk (I think) to battle Black Lantern Firestorm. Very appropriate, I thought!

I can’t wait for the JLA DVD. I found out about it a couple of weeks ago and immediately put it in my Netflix queue. It’s an added bonus that Firestorm is in it.
